Caroline Trips has a special honor to look forward to: she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The Managing Director of Trips GmbH has been an honorary member of the Schweinfurt Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Würzburg-Schweinfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce since the early 1990s. “This award really means a lot to me. It stands for something that is absolutely important to me personally: supporting people who want to go their own way professionally and who have a good idea,” says Trips. “Passing on my knowledge and experience is a matter close to my heart.”
Among other things, she has been a member of the General Assembly of the Würzburg-Schweinfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce since 1999 and a member of the Executive Committee since 2003. From 2019 – 2022, she served as Vice President. In 2023, she finally became President of the Würzburg-Schweinfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce. In addition, she served as a commercial judge at Schweinfurt District Court from 2011 – 2018.
This far-reaching commitment has now been honored by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier with the Order of Merit. The Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, presented the award on behalf of the President in Munich.
Trips, who has been managing the company together with her brother Christian Trips since 1989, stands for innovation, digitalization and sustainable growth.
For this reason, Caroline Trips is committed to protecting the environment. “We attach great importance to the expansion of renewable energies. Not only as part of our automation projects, but also within the company,” explains Trips. A combined heat and power plant and a wood chip system are in use. Not forgetting the photovoltaic system, which saves TRIPS 27 tons of CO2 emissions per year. These and other measures have meant that Trips has been able to call itself climate-neutral since 2023.
As an investor and shareholder, Caroline Trips will continue to support start-ups and young companies on their journey, promote entrepreneurial spirit and help develop forward-looking business models. At the same time, she has finalized her succession plan and will strategically pass the company on to her son, niece and nephew by 2032.
The high distinction of the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon is a well-deserved recognition of her tireless efforts and her value-oriented commitment.
