In October, 33 company representatives from the project development, automotive and infrastructure sectors as well as participants from the scientific community travelled to Egypt as a business delegation under the leadership of the Bavarian State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Roland Weigert, in order to establish business contacts and exchange information with government agencies. Among the representatives also our managing director Christian Trips.
According to Weigert, the Bavarian-Egyptian trade volume amounts to over 470 million Euros and offers potential for even more. Bavarian companies offer know-how and products with excellent application possibilities in Egypt. In order to continue working on bilateral economic relations, the Free State of Bavaria will open its own business representation in Cairo at the beginning of 2020.
On the agenda were visits to the Egyptian State Secretary for Industry and Trade, Ahmed Antar, and a meeting with the Minister of Military Production, Dr. Mohamed AL-Assar, and the Minister for International Cooperation and Investment, Dr. Sahar Nasr. The delegation also visited the BMW assembly plant in Cairo and a construction site where the BAUER company from Schrobenhausen is active.
“A trip like this is enormously important and offers an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and make new business contacts.”
Christian Trips, managing director TRIPS gmbh
