The SIVACON S8 is predestined for critical infrastructures, data centers, industrial plants and power distribution systems. Wherever security of supply, scalability and availability are crucial, it offers a future-proof solution for modern power distribution.
A low-voltage switchgear system is the heart of electrical power distribution. It receives incoming power, distributes it safely to multiple loads, and protects people, equipment, and installations against overloads, short circuits, and other electrical faults.
It can be compared to a traffic control hub within an electrical network: while busbars distribute power to individual feeders, circuit breakers, NH fuse switch disconnectors, isolators, and protection and metering devices ensure that each circuit operates safely and that faults are isolated selectively when they occur.
A typical example is a manufacturing plant, where the low-voltage switchgear supplies motors, conveyor systems, pumps, lighting, and IT infrastructure. If a short circuit occurs in one section of the plant, selective protection ensures that only the affected circuit is disconnected while the rest of the operation continues running. This minimizes downtime and increases overall plant availability.
Modern systems such as SIVACON S8 provide a high level of safety, modularity, and flexibility. They enable scalable power distribution solutions ranging from conventional power distribution boards to complex Motor Control Centers (MCCs) with withdrawable units, and can be easily expanded or adapted as operational requirements grow.
Design, manufacturing, and testing are carried out in accordance with DIN EN 61439. Key considerations include not only compliant power distribution, but also selectivity, personnel protection, equipotential bonding, arc fault protection, and long-term operational reliability. For industrial companies, this translates into reliable power availability, reduced operational risks, and a secure foundation for productivity and future growth.
